Deena Baum is an aspiring storyboard artist and currently a fourth year animation student at the University of Southern California. Starting in 2014, she has worked with story art, 2D and 3D animation, and live action filmmaking. While working towards her BA, Deena has gained experience at various entertainment companies, such as Sony Pictures Entertainment where she created a virtual reality experience. She has also worked as a production assistant at the 2D television animation studio Rough Draft Studios, and as an illustration intern at Cartavetra, an art gallery in Florence, Italy. Along with developing games and virtual reality experiences, Deena has worked on animated short films, one of which, “Tony”, won the USC Science Film Competition in 2016. She is also a veteran cartoonist for the Daily Trojan, the USC student-run newspaper, for which her art adorns the pages of the editorial section. Deena currently resides in Los Angeles, California, formulating new plans for future creative ventures.
